A modeling shade from the maker AMMO of Mig Jimenez listed under the designation Jet Exhaust. According to its name it aims at the staining of the surfaces behind the nozzle of a jet engine.
Responsibility details are not available.
The panels around the nozzle of a jet engine never stay in the color of the rest of the airframe. The hot efflux stains them, the area around the nozzle darkens and the marks trail rearward along the airflow, onto the underside of the fuselage and onto the inner side of the tail surfaces. The shade listed under the designation Jet Exhaust aims at exactly this work and also suits the exhaust mouths of vehicles, where the impression of thermally loaded metal is wanted.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, because the pigment settles at the bottom when it stands. Choose the thinner the manufacturer specifies for this line and set the thinning ratio according to the instructions on the packaging. For a sooted effect a thinner coat and lower pressure have proved themselves: the paint then settles in a fine mist and does not create a sharp edge. Apply it in layers and let the surface set between them, so that you keep the intensity under control.
Proceed from the nozzle rearward, in the direction in which the air flows around the airframe, and stick to the real original. Always rather underdo the effect; intensity can be added, while taking it away is only possible with difficulty. Before you start, try the coat on a piece of old plastic, mainly for the sake of the pressure and the distance of the airbrush. Wash and degrease the base in advance so that the paint holds. A brush works less well, because the transitions have to be blended away to nothing.
The model, thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
