According to the name the package offers four rims with the TE37 design in 1:18 scale for a diameter of nineteen inches. It is not a model of a car but replacement wheels, with which a build can be given a quite different look than it has with production parts. The material of the casting is stated on the box.
The TE37 from the Volk Racing line of the Rays forge has been perhaps the most quoted Japanese wheel of all since the mid-1990s. What is characteristic of it is its six flat spokes with a sharply creased edge, which run from the center to the rim in a single straight line, and an extremely simple silhouette with no ornament. The design has barely changed, because it came about for the sake of the ratio of weight to stiffness, not for the sake of fashion. The 19-inch version aims at modern coupes with larger brakes.
Flat spokes have nowhere to hide an unevenness, so before spraying it pays to run a fine sanding sponge over the face of the wheel and to degrease it. Apply the typical bronze tone over a light base, otherwise it will darken toward brown. It is a good idea to leave the sharp edge of the spoke free of wash and to keep the dirt only in the recess by the rim, so that the wheel does not lose its strict geometry.
