An injection-molded plastic model of the small two-legged MechatroWeGo working robot in 1:20 scale. It is not a replica of a real machine but Hasegawa's own science fiction subject, released in a numbered line. The individual releases differ from one another in finish and accessories, so the number and the subtitle in the name are a distinguishing detail, not decoration.
MechatroWeGo is a fictional single-seat walking machine of civilian character: a bulbous cabin with large glazing, a short body and two legs with pronounced feet. Its character is closer to a working or sporting runabout than to a combat mech, which shows in the soft shapes and in the proportions. 1:20 scale is usual for figure-like science fiction subjects, and the robot in it comes out as a compact but clearly readable model on which the surface is worth attention.
The model is simple in shape, so the outcome is decided by a clean surface and the paint. Even up the joints on the cabin and the leg covers and lay down a filler primer before painting. Large smooth surfaces tempt one toward a gloss finish, which will mercilessly show every irregularity, so it is better to prepare the base carefully first and spray in thin coats. The cabin glazing is worth masking before painting and fitting at the end. Fine shading into the engraved lines and light weathering on the feet give the robot its scale and credibility without taking away from the playful character of the subject.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
