1:200 Boeing E-767 AWACS is a plastic kit from the Japanese firm Hasegawa capturing the airborne early warning and control aircraft in a special anniversary marking.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the airborne early warning and control aircraft in 1:200 scale from the Japanese maker Hasegawa. It is a special release with a commemorative marking for the anniversary of the unit that operates the machines. The model keeps the typical silhouette of a wide-body aircraft with a large rotating radar dome carried above the rear fuselage.
The E-767 came about by converting the Boeing 767 airliner into a carrier for an early warning radar. Above the fuselage it has the dish-shaped antenna cover mounted on two pylons, inside the cabin are the operators' stations, and the power comes from two turbofan engines slung under the wings. Against the older machines built on the Boeing 707 it offered a far roomier cabin and a longer time on station. It is operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and in its colors it is among the most striking aircraft that can be put on a shelf.
Glue and sand down the fuselage of a large aircraft before varnishing: the seam along the spine is very visible when seen from above. A light base shade will reveal every unevenness, so prepare the surface carefully and spray in thin coats. Leave the radar dome with its pylons for the end of the build, so that it does not break off during handling, and mask the color stripes of the anniversary scheme gradually from the lighter shade to the darker one.
The model is unassembled and unpainted; the package does not contain paints, glue or other accessories.
