The accessory is prepared for a model of the battleship Bismarck in a scale in which the finished work is over a meter long. On a piece like that the deck surface is the largest continuous area the viewer sees, and smooth plastic looks empty there. Replacing it with a textured covering therefore helps the final impression more than most small accessories put together. Behind the set stands Artwox Model. It is based on the dimensions of the Trumpeter 03702 kit.
The Bismarck sailed on her only combat voyage in May 1941. In the Denmark Strait she sent the battlecruiser Hood to the bottom within a few minutes, which earned her the most extensive hunt the Royal Navy ever organized. A torpedo hit from a carrier aircraft damaged her rudders and two days later she ended up on the bottom of the Atlantic. Eight days at sea nevertheless made her one of the best known ships of all.
First rid the plastic deck of pins, projections and the remains of sprue gates, so that flat seats on flat. Try it dry and only then fix it down; a first piece out of place will drag the whole rest with it. Make the cuts with a new blade run along a ruler. At the end it pays to bring out the shadows between the superstructures, so that the surface does not look uniform.
The set serves to modify a kit you have bought and does not include the hull itself.
