This injection-molded plastic kit captures the Chinese conventional attack submarine of the Song class in the Type 039G version in 1:200 scale. The model has a full-hull version with engraved detail, a sail with separate diving planes, cradle stands and a choice of extended or retracted periscopes and masts. Paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
Type 039, under the NATO code name the Song class, is a Chinese diesel-electric submarine brought into service from the 1990s. She is roughly 75 meters long and represents one of the first modern conventional submarines of domestic Chinese design. The Type 039G version carries a characteristic sail and is adapted for a torpedo as well as a missile armament.
Line the halves of the hull up and fill the seams for a smooth surface. Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic. We recommend a two-tone naval scheme, and accent the edges and the detail of the sail with dry brushing; glue the periscopes and the masts on only after painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
