In this small scale it is a compact model, suited to a shelf and to a collection of spaceflight hardware. Hasegawa is a Japanese manufacturer known for accurate shapes and good mold quality.
The Space Shuttle was an American crewed space system operated from the 1980s until 2011. The winged orbiter launched on top of an expendable external tank with two booster rockets and, after the mission, came down to a runway landing in an unpowered glide. It carried crew and cargo to low Earth orbit and took part, among other things, in building orbital stations and releasing satellites.
The smaller scale means fewer parts, which makes a clean fit of the fuselage and the wings and tidy seams all the more important. Join the plastic with liquid cement. The distinctive black-and-white layout of the thermal protection stands out when you use masks and an airbrush, or a combination of painting and the enclosed decals. Separate the matte and semi-gloss surfaces with suitable varnishes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
