A kit of the American Peterbilt 378 semi tractor in 1:24 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Peterbilt 378 belongs among the American semi tractors of the classic layout, that is with the engine in a long hood ahead of the cab. It is precisely this silhouette that makes American trucks a rewarding modeling subject: polished tanks, tall exhaust stacks, a massive grille and chrome-plated fittings offer plenty of surfaces to work with gloss and reflections. The Long Hauler designation in the name refers to long-distance haulage, that is to machines built for long routes and for a driver spending longer in the vehicle.
This is a kit in 1:24 scale, the most usual scale for trucks and cars, so the finished model is of a respectable length and can be supplemented with accessories in the same scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The range of parts, the marking options and the recommended sequence are given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Before gluing, remove any excess material and manufacturing marks from the parts and test fit the assembly dry, especially on the cab and the frame, where several large parts come together. A gloss finish calls for careful preparation: sand the surface smooth, lay on a primer and spray the paint in several light coats. Fit the chrome-plated and clear parts, if the kit contains them, right at the end, so that they do not get dirty or scratched. A light dusting of the wheels and the underside will give the model a sense of scale and take away its toylike look.
Paints, glue, filler and accessory sets are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
