The RF-4E is the reconnaissance version of the Phantom II. Instead of gun and missile armament it carried a suite of photographic equipment in a lengthened nose, but the rest of the airframe stayed the same as on the combat versions, including the two-seat cockpit. A number of foreign operators had it in service, and among modelers it is one of the popular variants precisely because of the different shape of the nose.
These are color interior elements with three-dimensional relief, glued directly onto the cockpit parts from the kit. They replace hand-coloring of the instrument panels and the side consoles: the instruments, the switches and the lettering are rendered in color, and the three-dimensional relief gives them a depth a flat decal does not have. The set is laid out for the Hasegawa kit, as the name states, so the individual elements match the shape of its parts.
Before applying them, check in the instructions whether the elements are self-adhesive; the application method differs between ranges and is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Wash and degrease the cockpit parts beforehand, as nothing holds on a greasy surface. Lift an element with tweezers or the tip of a knife, seat it dry, check the position and only then press it down. On convex spots a brief press with a soft eraser helps. Leave the surrounding surfaces painted and dry; the elements are fitted last.
