Holographic film for the optics of the 2S23 Nona-SVK 1:35 from SX-Art replaces the plastic vision ports and periscopes with clear parts that have a shine of their own. An accessory for a kit, not a separate model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This SX-Art accessory is meant for modelers who are building the 2S23 Nona-SVK self-propelled mortar system in 1:35 scale and want the optics of the vehicle to look like glass rather than painted plastic. The clear parts are seated into the openings left by the original plastic vision ports, periscopes and instrument heads. The set holds no parts of the vehicle and will not stand in for the model on its own.
Wheeled self-propelled guns have vision ports scattered over the whole hull and turret, and those are what give away the plastic on a finished model. Holographic film has a prismatic shine, changes shade with the viewing angle and does not have to be painted. Once the whole hull is matted, the optics remain the only glossy place on it, which is exactly the effect sought on real equipment.
Fit the parts only once the clear coat, the decals and the weathering are done. Clean the opening left by the plastic part, free it of dust and grease and try the part dry so that it sits flush with its surroundings. Use a clear glue for windows that does not haze to fix it; super glue can cloud the surface. Apply pigments and dust to the surroundings before you seat the optics, and wipe off any residue afterwards with a cotton swab.
