The Mazda RX-7 FD3S Type RS in 1:24 scale is a plastic kit of the third generation of the Japanese sports coupe with a Wankel engine, issued by the Japanese company Fujimi.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the Mazda RX-7 sports coupe of the third generation with the body type designation FD3S, in the Type RS equipment grade. The kit comes from the Japanese company Fujimi and belongs to its car range in 1:24 scale. According to the manufacturer this release additionally contains parts for a lowered chassis and self-adhesive masks, which make it easier to paint the black surround on the inside of the windows. The instrument panel is in right-hand drive form, because the newest version of the RX-7 was sold only in Japan.
The RX-7 of the FD3S generation was introduced in 1991 and built until 2002. Under the long hood worked a two-rotor Wankel engine designated 13B-REW, turbocharged by a pair of turbochargers connected sequentially one after the other, which was meant to limit the lag at low revs. The car became famous for its low weight, an almost balanced distribution of weight between the axles and very sharp handling. The Type RS grade was aimed at driving on the circuit: it received a firmer chassis, bigger brakes and lighter wheels, and in Japan it was among the most sought-after configurations of the whole line.
The rounded body of the FD3S stands out superbly in a deep gloss. Spray a filler primer, wet-sand it, apply two to three thin coats of paint and finish with gloss varnish, which can be polished once it has cured. Use the enclosed masks on the black window surrounds, and the result will be cleaner than painting by hand. Check the headlights with the pop-up mechanism dry before gluing, so that their covers fit the hood. If you use the parts for a lowered chassis, check the clearance of the wheels in the wheel arches in advance.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
