Several kit manufacturers offer the same subject in this scale, and the cockpit canopies differ in shape. This set is intended for the kit from Italeri, which is the only detail by which it can be told apart from otherwise identically named sets for other kits. The one-sided version masks the outer side of the glazing.
The F-35B is the variant of the Lightning II with a short take-off and vertical landing, powered by a lift fan and a swiveling nozzle. It serves with the US Marine Corps and with further users operating aircraft carriers without a catapult. The cockpit canopy on the F-35 is one-piece and heavily rounded, so a mask has to fit really precisely.
Modern aircraft are painted in low-visibility gray shades that cover poorly. Apply more thin coats, therefore, otherwise a step forms on the edges of the masks. On a rounded surface lay the mask down from the center toward the edges and press it on with a toothpick. Take the masks off once the paint has dried, while it is still fresh, and the edge will then stay sharp.
