Chevrolet C60L Office Lorry in 1:35 scale is a plastic kit of the Canadian military truck with an office body from the Polish maker IBG models.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the production of the Polish brand IBG models, which has long specialized in Allied and Central European equipment. The real subject is a Canadian military truck with an office body, that is, a vehicle that served in the field as the mobile office of a staff, a signals or a supply unit. Further related versions of the same chassis are made as well, so a whole group of vehicles of one family can be built.
The vehicles designated as the Canadian Military Pattern were built during the Second World War in the Canadian plants of Chevrolet and Ford for the needs of the British Commonwealth. They were marked by a characteristic boxy cab with a short front, all-wheel drive and high ground clearance. The letter C in the designation says that the vehicle was built by Chevrolet, the number 60 refers to a load class of roughly three tons and the letter L denotes a long wheelbase. Dozens of bodies were built on this chassis, from flatbeds and ambulances to workshops, tankers and, as here, offices. The office body had solid walls, windows and interior equipment for administrative work, thanks to which a staff could move together with its unit. Vehicles of this type served on every front where British and Allied units operated, and a number of them stayed in service long after the war.
Finish the frame, the axles and the engine bay first, and only then seat the cab and the body. If the vehicle has glazing in both the cab and the body, it pays off to mask the windows before spraying. Use a thin modeling cement for plastic, which wicks into the joint, and sand the joints down once dry. Apply a primer before painting. Spray the base shade with an airbrush in thin layers, because the large flat areas of the body call for a play of shades, so that the model does not look like a uniform box. Build the weathering from the bottom up: dust pigments on the wheels and the wheel arches, a dark wash into the panel joints and a fine dry brush on the edges and the step surfaces.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
