A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:24 scale from the Japanese company Studio27. You are buying the markings alone, not the parts or the body. The subjects are two Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI cars from the 1994 season of the German touring car championship, which ran as numbers 11 and 12 in the colors of the Schübel Engineering team. The motifs are sized to the body of the Tamiya 24137 kit.
The Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI was built to the Class 1 regulations of the day and shared barely more than a silhouette with the production sedan of the same name. Under the hood worked a naturally aspirated V6 of roughly two and a half liters, the power went to all four wheels and the body was completed by large aerodynamic wings. In its debut season of 1993 the Italian marque took the German championship outright, and a year later the car was among the fastest machines in the field. Christian Danner and Giorgio Francia took turns at the wheel of cars 11 and 12 in 1994.
The markings come out best on a smooth gloss base, because under a matte or grainy surface the carrier film shows through and the edges begin to draw themselves. Separate the motifs one at a time, soak them briefly and fine-tune the position while there is still a film of water underneath. Once everything has dried completely, the whole car is given a clear coat so that the markings blend into the metal.
