The Deathscythe is among the most memorable mobile suits of the whole brand, a darkly toned machine built around a scythe, which stands out from the classic designs with a rifle and a shield. Bandai offers it with pre-colored parts, so you get its characteristic color layout without mixing shades and without a coat of paint.
The machine came about in a line where each of the main suits carries a fighting style of its own. The Deathscythe is the one among them that bets on speed, surprise and close combat instead of firepower. That is where its dark finish and its unusual weapon come from, which made it an icon. The particular armament and equipment differ between individual forms, and the contents of the package are stated on the packaging.
Pre-colored plastic means the color layout is set by the maker and you do not have to reach for an airbrush. At the same time it means that every burr and scratch is clearly visible on a colored surface. If you are going to separate the parts from the sprue, use sharp nippers at a distance and even the sprue nub out with a knife. The voluntary improvement that makes the biggest difference is bringing out the engraved lines with a thin stroke, adding the markings and unifying the sheen with a matte varnish. Dark areas will also take a fine bringing out of the edges, because otherwise they merge together in a display case.
