A set of masks for the landing gear bays of a model of the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien fighter in 1:72 scale. Intended for painting; the model is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien was a Japanese army fighter of the Second World War. Among contemporary Japanese machines you recognize it at first glance: thanks to its liquid-cooled engine it had a slender pointed nose, whereas most other Japanese fighters carried a massive radial. The Allies used the code designation Tony for it. The Ki-61-Id form belongs to the late machines of the first production series.
Masks for the landing gear bays of a model in 1:72 scale. The parts of the mask are prepared in their finished shape, so nothing has to be cut out: the mask is laid in place and defines a crisp boundary between the inside of the bay and the color of the airframe. That saves work with tape and also touching up with a brush in corners that are hard to reach. Compare the shapes of the masks with the parts you have before painting.
Apply the masks to a clean, dry and degreased surface before spraying and press the edges down carefully, so that paint cannot flow under them. Lay the paint on in thin coats and rather in several goes; a heavy coat creates a step at the edge that is visible once the mask is lifted. Lift the mask off as soon as the paint has set, best of all with tweezers or the point of a scalpel. The shade of the inside of the landing gear bays differs from machine to machine; follow the references for the version you are building.
The aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
