Pre-cut masks in kabuki tape for masking during spraying. Kabuki is a thin paper material which adapts readily to curves and leaves no adhesive behind when it is lifted. It is not a kit and not a decal but an accessory for building a model. The name states both single-seat versions, A and C, because the outline of their glazing and of the masked surfaces is identical from the point of view of masking.
The level in the name is a distinguishing fact about the extent of the set, not about a different aircraft. BASIC is the smallest variant, EXPERT the widest, ADVANCED lies between them. Two sets for the same type therefore do not mean a duplicate, but a choice between a smaller and a larger extent of masking. This one is the EXPERT level.
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine carrier-borne combat aircraft which joined the fighter and the attack role in a single design. The F/A-18A is the first production single-seat version; the F/A-18C brought modernized avionics and wider armament options. Machines of the so-called classic series served for decades with the US Navy and the US Marine Corps, and in export reached several other air forces.
Wash and degrease the parts before applying them. Lift the masks with tweezers and press them down with a toothpick, with particular care around the frames and in the corners. Spray the paint perpendicularly and in thin coats, so that it does not creep under the edge, and take the masks off shortly after it has dried, while the layer is still flexible.
