A finished commander cupola for a 1:35 model of the Panther tank in the Ausf. F version. It is fitted on the turret roof in place of the kit part.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Panther Ausf. F is a late development version of the German Panther medium tank. It received a new, narrower turret with a differently arranged front and roof, and with it a commander cupola different from the earlier versions. The cupola is a small but conspicuous part on the model: it sits at the highest point of the machine and the viewer looks down on it.
A finished commander cupola for a model in 1:35 scale. It replaces the kit part and brings a finer rendering of the vision ports, the hatch and its surroundings. The exact number of parts and the fitting procedure are given in the manufacturer instructions, which also govern whether the opening in the kit turret roof has to be altered.
The parts are not polystyrene, so bond them with super glue. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder down so that the cupola seats on the turret roof squarely and without a gap. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Try the seating dry and alter any opening in the turret roof in advance, because it is awkward to do on a finished and painted model. It is a good idea to glue the hatch on only after painting, so that what will be visible through it can be sprayed comfortably.
The accessory suits modelers who are building the Panther Ausf. F and want the most exposed part of the turret better rendered, and also those who build the vehicle with the hatch open and a commander figure. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
