Rubber for builders of older sporting cars on which large modern tires do not visually sit right. The smaller size range matches the period when racing coupes were shod on markedly more modest wheels than today's production. The goods round out a part-built model and are not a model themselves.
The Toyo Proxes R888R is a racing-minded tire of the Japanese brand Toyo Tires meant above all for closed tracks. It is made in a wide range of sizes, so you meet it on historic cars too, which run club competitions and dedicated track-day events. A smaller size has different proportions than today's low-profile rubber: the side is taller, the tire comes across as fuller and the overall look of the wheel is closer to the way cars looked in the 1970s. For a model that means a noticeably different reading of the wheel arch.
The taller side of the tire is an area that can be put to good use. Suggest a fine texture on it and a difference between the smooth field with the lettering and the rest of the surface; even this small contrast brings a tire to life. If you are building a parked car, the lower part of the tire can be flattened slightly by sanding, so that it looks loaded with the weight of the car. On a moving form leave this treatment out.
The set serves as an accessory for a build, not as a kit of a car in its own right.
