Eighteen-inch wheel discs with a dense mesh drawing from the Japanese tuning school, supplied without tires.

The Osaka manufacturer Work is among the names that have recurred in Japanese tuning since the end of the seventies. The Emotion line is its most widespread answer to the demand of circuit drivers, who wanted a light wheel with a dense drawing. The Cr type of drawing appeared on cars around the turn of the millennium and remains to this day a recognizable mark of builds that aim at fast times on short circuits, not at show podiums.
Eighteen inches is a characteristic size for this scene. A larger diameter would add weight exactly where it is fought hardest, while a smaller one would not give room for large brakes. On a model this set therefore works best with Japanese coupes and sedans of the nineties and the beginning of the new millennium, especially when you complete the build with a bucket seat and a roll cage.
The package contains the discs only. Take the tires from a kit or from another set; a semi-slick with a minimal tread pattern suits the style better than a pronounced road pattern.
In color the scene favors bronze and the so-called Japanese gold variant, and silver or white as a complement. A dense mesh tempts one to apply the paint more heavily, so as to cover the sides of the spokes, but the result tends to be a flooded drawing – it is better to spray thinly from several angles.
The look of this school rests on restraint. Colored bolts, chrome caps and a contrasting lip do not belong here; a uniform shade over the whole area is more faithful than an effort to decorate the wheel afterward.
