Yamamoto Model Parts Air Valves Type C is a set of miniature valves for the wheel rims of a car model in 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a small detailing accessory, not a kit. On a real car the valve is an inconspicuous but always present component of the wheel, and that is precisely why its absence on a model is a nuisance. Ordinary kits either do not address it at all or suggest it with a bump molded into the rim. The Type C set offers separately made valves, which are fitted into a drilled hole and after painting come across convincingly even in a detailed photograph.
Variants of the types
The manufacturer keeps this item in several configurations designated by letters: alongside Type C, types A, B and D are on offer as well. They differ in the shape or the angle of the valve; real wheels use straight as well as bent configurations according to the construction of the rim. Choose, therefore, according to what wheels you are building on the model, or according to photographs of the particular car.
Drill the hole in the rim with a micro drill bit step by step, in smaller diameters, and always test first on a scrap part how the material behaves. Insert the valve dry and only then glue it, with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a really minimal amount applied with a pin, so that the glue does not run over the surface of the rim. Deal with the painting before fitting: the body of the valve tends to be metal and the cap can be colored, so a small accent of color brings the wheel to life. Mount the rims with the valves fitted onto the model only at the end of the build.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base kit, wheels, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
