The 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race has been run on the circuit near the French town of Le Mans since 1923 and is among the best-known events in motorsport. It is not won by the fastest lap but by the car that covers the greatest distance in twenty-four hours. It is precisely the turns, where the cars line up behind one another and cross between the racing lines, that are more rewarding for a model scene than a straight: they let you turn the model into a curve and create an impression of movement even on a motionless exhibit.
