Photo-etched details from Hobby Design for the metal (diecast) model of the Bentley Continental Supersports coupe in 1:24 scale. The package is not a kit of the car; it is an extra with which you will give a finished model the fine elements that series production leaves out at the factory.
The Continental Supersports of 2009 was in its day the fastest and most powerful series-production Bentley. The six-liter W12 twelve-cylinder with a pair of turbochargers gave 630 hp, the car was able to run on E85 fuel as well, and the lightened two-seat cabin underlined the sporting character of an otherwise luxurious coupe. The combination of speed and nobility makes it a rewarding subject for a collection.
Lay the diecast model on a soft mat before the work, so that the varnished body does not get scuffed. Fit the photo-etch with tweezers with smooth jaws and fix it with a preparation that leaves no milky marks; gel super glue applied with a toothpick works well. Start in the less visible places until you gain confidence, and only then set about the radiator grille or the window trim. Finally look the finished whole over under sharp side light, which will reveal every edge not glued down.
