An injection-molded plastic kit of the classic German sedan BMW 2002 tii of 1971 in 1:24 scale from Hasegawa. It is a modern, finely executed mold of the curbside type (without an engine), focused on a faithful body shape and the interior. According to the manufacturer's information the package offers two types of mirrors and two variants of the front bumper, so the car can be built to your own taste.
The BMW 2002 tii is one of the marque's classics from the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. In 1971 the two-door 2002 model received a two-liter engine with fuel injection, which offered around 130 horsepower and lively handling. The compact 02 series laid the foundations for the later BMW sports sedans and is a sought-after youngtimer to this day.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. This is a curbside kit without an engine, so put the emphasis on a cleanly painted body and the interior. Apply primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush; classic finishes come into their own once polished with a gloss clear coat. Fit the chrome trim and the glazing only on a finished body, and apply the decals over a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
