An injection-molded plastic kit of the classic German BMW 2002 turbo sports sedan in 1:24 scale from Hasegawa. It is a modern tooling with the features typical of the turbo version: flared fenders, front and rear spoilers and squared-off tail lights. The model captures the aggressive look of one of the first series-built turbocharged cars.
The BMW 2002 turbo appeared in 1973 and is often called the first series-built European sedan with a forced-induction engine. It was derived from the compact 02 range, to which it added a turbocharger, flared fenders and pronounced spoilers. The turbocharged two-liter offered sharp performance for its day and turned the car into a sought-after collector classic with a reputation for a wild road manner.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish the body with its flared fenders and spoilers cleanly and fit the interior before you close it up. Apply primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush; a classic finish comes into its own once it is polished under a gloss clear coat. The period stripes and markings come as decals, which should be applied over a gloss surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
