A set from Hobby Design combining, according to the name, photo-etched frets and metal parts for the plastic kit of the racing BMW Z4 GT3 of 2012 from Fujimi in 1:24 scale. It is not a kit of the car but equipment that will give the circuit special the technical details that decide the impression on the real machine.
The Z4 GT3 was built by the Munich automaker for customer teams. Under the stretched nose a V8 of 4.4 liters displacement worked, and the car appeared regularly in endurance races including the twenty-four-hour events, where it collected overall as well as class successes. The wide fenders, the massive wing and the aggressive aerodynamics make it a spectacular modeling subject. After their factory career the cars served private stables for a long time, so there is no end of color schemes for inspiration.
With racing cars the cleanliness of the decals and an even gloss are decisive, so fit the photo-etch preferentially where a decal will not cover it later. The intake meshes will stand out with a dark base behind them. Roughen the metal components slightly with a fine abrasive before gluing, and the joint will then last substantially longer. A final coat of varnish will unify the gloss of the paint and the decals. Fit the antennas and the wipers at the very end.
