This extensive injection-molded plastic kit from Heller in 1:24 scale represents a road tractor unit with a closed three-axle box semi-trailer in a conspicuous eagle finish. The rig of a 4x2 tractor and a semi-trailer reaches a length of around 77 cm once assembled, which faithfully reflects the dimensions of a real road train. The kit is richly subdivided — it contains a finely rendered inline six-cylinder engine, a well-worked cab and a chassis. Decals for the striking graphics with eagle motifs are included in the package.
The real subject is a classic European long-haul tractor unit with a powerful inline six-cylinder engine. The Eagletruck finish with black paint and bold eagle-wing graphics is one of the popular show-truck subjects, which stand out above all in the large 1:24 scale.
Given the size of the rig, plan the sequence and the painting in subassemblies in advance. Paint and assemble the engine, the chassis and the cab interior before you close the bodywork up. Spray the black finish with an airbrush over a filler primer and polish it; finish the chrome features and the eagle graphic decals off at the end. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic.
