This Decalcas decal set in 1:24 scale transfers onto a model of the Fiat 131 Abarth the trim connected with the designation Fiat Rally and ASA from the 1980 season. The decals are applied to a finished model, which the builder obtains separately.
The Finnish Thousand Lakes rally was a test of courage at the time: fast forest roads, crests in the terrain and jumps after which a car came down with its full weight on the shock absorbers. In 1980 the home crew of Markku Alen and Ilkka Kivimaki won it, and for them the 131 Abarth was a proven tool. On the Finnish crests a rear-wheel-drive special had to be steered mainly with the throttle and with a precise line. For Italian machinery the northern event was a test not only of speed, but above all of the ability to get to the finish with an undamaged chassis.
Work one motif at a time and dry your hands and the tweezers between the steps. Wet tweezers will lift the next decal off the pad before you need it, and films stuck together can be separated only with great losses. Put the dish of water on the side that you do not have to reach across above the model.
