The decal set Ford Escort Mk II – Rallye Firestone 1976 in 1:24 scale from the Decalcas brand for finishing a model of the second generation competition Escort.
Responsibility details are not available.
Decalcas decals in 1:24 scale with the markings of the second generation Ford Escort in the version that the name connects with the Rallye Firestone event and with the year 1976. The set serves to finish a model that is already built and painted; the model itself is not part of it.
The second generation of the Escort came in the middle of the 1970s with an angular body and quickly took over the role of the universal competition car. Rear drive, a stiff rear axle and the willingness of the car to run long slides made it into a subject that even people standing outside modeling circles know. Alongside the works entries, these Escorts also raced in great numbers with private crews, who stuck their own sponsor markings onto them. The name of the set refers to the Rallye Firestone event and to the 1976 running.
On a body with pronounced fender flares and sharp transitions it pays to reach for a decal softener. It is applied only onto a motif that is already laid down and is left to work without a single touch – the film softens, drops into the shape of the metal and after drying looks like sprayed paint. Do not interfere with the softening layer with fingers or a brush, otherwise it will gather up irreversibly.
This is a separate decal set. The model itself and paints are not supplied.
