1:24 Garage Set #5 - Buckets

Garage Set 5 - Buckets in 1:24 scale from Yamamoto Model Parts

Take note, this is not a kit of a car and not a model on its own. It is a diorama accessory: a set of buckets in 1:24 scale intended for filling a garage, workshop or service scene around the main model. Yamamoto Model Parts builds the whole Garage line precisely on such small things, which are not the star of a display case in themselves, but without which a scene looks empty.

What it is suited to

Buckets belong to the garage inventory exactly as much as wrenches or jerricans. Placed against a wall, under a bench, tipped over beside a wheel or filled with a rag, they give a scene a sense of scale and action. In 1:24 scale the accessory goes together with ordinary models of cars and with the other pieces of the garage line.

Use and painting

• Separate the parts carefully and sand any remains of casting or printing down with fine paper
• Wash the surface in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let it dry
• Apply a thin primer, as small parts take it only in a weak layer
• Paint metal with a dark base and bring the edges to life with a dry brush, setting plastic and sheet metal apart by sheen
• A wash into the recesses and pigments from the outside will turn a new bucket into a used one

Who the accessory is for

For builders of garage and workshop dioramas in 1:24 scale, for modelers of cars who want to set a model into its surroundings, and for anyone who puts a scene together gradually from small fittings. The accessory is small, but it is exactly such pieces that make the difference between a model on a board and a scene that can be believed.

The accessory is supplied unpainted and it is not a model of a vehicle. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
