Sheets with emblems for modelers who are building a car in the form of a particular tuning brand and want to mark it the same way as the real subject. The decals are transferred onto the finished painted surface of a model and serve as the closing detail of a build, not as a model in its own right.
Hamann is a German firm that deals in modifications of premium and sporting cars. Its work rests on aerodynamic body accessories, wheel designs of its own and interior work; pronounced shapes of bumpers and wide sills are characteristic of it. The emblems of the brand appear on modified cars on the body, on the rear and inside the car, so on a model they fill the same role the signature of a workshop has on the real subject. For a builder it is therefore a detail by which the particular modification can be documented.
A decal holds best on a smooth glossy base, so before applying it, overcoat the area with gloss varnish and let it cure properly. Cut the motif out as close to the drawing as possible, so that after drying the transparent edge of the carrier film is not visible. Once it is settled, use decal softener, which draws the decal down to the surface and lets it follow the edges and the pressings. Finally seal the whole thing by overcoating, which levels the edge and evens the sheen with the surrounding body.
