Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk I was built on an older school of design than its more famous contemporary. The framework of the fuselage was a welded steel tube truss covered with metal at the front and fabric at the rear, which allowed repairers to patch bullet holes right at a field airfield within a few hours. It was precisely thanks to easy repairability and calm behavior in a turn that squadrons with this type shot down more enemy aircraft in 1940 than all the other British fighters put together. Its deployment was not limited to Britain; the machines served over North Africa, on Malta and in the Soviet Union too. A few examples even took off from a catapult on merchant ships, from where the pilot returned after the task by bailing out into the sea.
The film is cut to the individual panels of the canopy and the windscreen, including the triangular side fillers behind the frame of the pilot's compartment. Covering from both sides is stated, so the set is aimed at the inner frames as well.
The cockpit canopy on this type has many frames and narrow square windows stay between them. It is precisely such framing that belongs among the most unpleasant cases of masking by hand with tape, because every cut has to be accurate to a tenth of a millimeter and a single stray is immediately apparent on a large model. A pre-cut shape removes this problem. The round insignia and the lettering under the wings, however, are not in the envelope.
