The Isuzu Gemini of the second generation, factory designation JT190, is a compact Japanese car of the end of the 1980s with front-wheel drive. The hatchback body rests on simple surfaces and sharp edges, that is exactly on what Japanese production of the day did best. The sporting form was sold under the ZZ handling by Lotus designation, which refers to the tuning of the chassis and sets this version apart from the ordinary variants of the model range.
The model in 1:24 scale captures the car in the variant with the front aero bumper. The plastic parts are laid out on sprues and are supplied unassembled and unpainted, so that both the color treatment and the degree of refinement remain up to you. The body with its large smooth surfaces rewards a fine finish, but at the same time it forgives nothing, and so it pays to give time to preparing the surface.
Separate the parts from the sprues with nippers a little away from the part and carefully sand the sprue nub, so that the edge stays sharp. Go over any flash with fine abrasive paper. It is glued with ordinary cement for polystyrene, which is best dosed drop by drop with a bristle. Spray the paint in thin coats; on the large surface of a body a heavy coat shows up at once. Apply a gloss varnish under the decals and even out the degree of sheen only with a final clear coat over the whole car.
For modelers who are fond of Japanese cars of the 1980s, and for collectors building a display case of civilian automobiles. The paints, the glue, the abrasive material and the tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
