The Gun Metal designation in the name tells this release from the two other color versions of the same kit, which the manufacturer issues alongside it. The number in the name refers to the model year of the real car, that is 2011. A dark metallic shade is among the most rewarding forms, because it lets the sharp edges of the body stand out.
The Aventador replaced the Murcielago in 2011 and became the new flagship of Lamborghini. The basic version carries the designation LP 700-4: the twelve-cylinder is mounted longitudinally ahead of the rear axle and the power goes to all four wheels. The basis of the design is a carbon monocoque complemented by aluminum frames at the front and at the rear, which gave the car extraordinary stiffness at a relatively low weight. The scissor doors, the wedge profile and the aggressively cut front end follow on from the shape tradition of the marque and make the Aventador one of the most frequently built modern supercars.
Dark metallic shades are merciless to the preparation of the surface: every scratch and imperfectly sanded seam shows on them more than on a light color. Sand the body thoroughly, therefore, apply a base color and only then spray the covering shade in thin coats. Mix the metallic pigment well before spraying, as it settles to the bottom. Finish the interior, the engine bay and the chassis before you close the body up. Glue the transparent parts only at the end and mask them beforehand.
The model is supplied unassembled, as a plastic kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
