A kit of the competition Lancia Delta S4 in 1:24 scale from the Beemax brand, in the form of the car that won the 1986 Catalonia Rally. Beemax has long devoted itself to the rally and circuit cars of the 1980s, and the Delta S4 belongs to the same family as the maker Monte Carlo version. It is a classic injection-molded plastic kit for gluing, supplied unpainted.
The Lancia Delta S4 was the high point of the Group B era. With a body that only resembled the production Delta, it in fact had a tube frame, an engine mounted in the middle behind the crew and drive to all wheels. The most interesting thing about it was twin charging: a supercharger worked at low revs and removed the lag, while a turbocharger took over the work higher up. The car made its debut at the end of 1985 and competed only through the 1986 season, after which Group B was abolished. It is exactly that brevity of service that made it one of the most collected rally subjects.
A rally car stands or falls on its paint and its decals. It pays to build the body separately from the rest of the car, spray it over a primer, go over it with a gloss clear coat and only then apply the sponsor decals, because on a smooth glossy surface no silvery film forms. After the decals comes a second coat of clear, which beds them into the surface. The interior, the frame and the mechanicals on the other hand take matte shades and a gentle lift of the edges. Let the body cure thoroughly before you start polishing it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
