This is a sheet of decals for the circuit McLaren MP4-12C GT3 in the Gulf livery from the 2012 season, with the starting numbers 9 and 69. It serves to give a body already built and painted the racing markings that place it unambiguously with this team and this season.
The MP4-12C GT3 came about as the circuit version of the road coupe MP4-12C. The basis was a carbon monocoque and a turbocharged eight-cylinder set behind the driver's back, but the racing version was given a differently tuned drivetrain, a sequential transmission, larger aerodynamic elements with a rear wing and a roll cage to the rules of the GT3 category. The cars started in European endurance series from 2011, and among the most memorable were those in the light blue and orange combination that fans of endurance racing recognize from a distance.
A sponsor livery covers a large part of the surface, so first try the whole layout dry and only then reach for water. Lay the extensive areas down in smaller sections, so that they do not crease, and watch the continuity of the dividing stripes across the edges of the hood, the doors and the fenders. Before the film dries it can still be moved; once dry, every deviation from the axis shows. A continuous glossy overcoat will finally hide the edges and even the whole thing out.
