An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. The subject is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution of the sixth generation in the GSR trim level. According to the name a masking set is part of the package, which makes covering the glazing and other areas during painting easier. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Lancer Evolution came about as the sporting offshoot of the ordinary Lancer sedan and its engineering was tied to competition use. The sixth generation of the end of the 1990s was built on the proven two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and all-wheel drive with a carefully worked-out distribution of torque. The GSR trim represented a full road version with more comfortable equipment, while the lightened guise was intended for conversion into a competition car. Characteristic elements of the body are the large rear wing, the pronounced openings in the front end and the intercooler for the compressed air at the front.
Stick the enclosed masks onto cleaned and degreased glazing and press the edges down carefully, so that no paint runs under them. Take them off only once the finish has dried, carefully and at a sharp angle. Before painting, wash the body, sand the parting seams down and apply a base coat. The white and bright shades typical of these cars call for more thin layers and a good base, otherwise the plastic shows through. Finish the engine bay and the interior before you join the body to the chassis. The sporting wheels come out well if you set the shade of the rim apart from the tire with matte black.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
