The Constructo metal lifeboat 73 mm is a ready-made casting of a ship's boat for ship models. It is prepared by cleaning it up, painting it and fitting it onto the deck.
Responsibility details are not available.
A casting of a lifeboat 73 mm long, intended as an accessory for ship models. It is one ready-made part, not a kit. It takes the place of laboriously making a boat from strips or from a block of wood and saves time on a detail that catches the eye on a finished model.
On the decks of historical and more modern ships alike, boats are among the most conspicuous features. A model without them looks empty, particularly amidships and around the superstructures. Its length of 73 mm makes this part the smaller variant, which suits places where a larger boat would look out of proportion, or where you need to fit several of them on a deck. It is also a practical replacement for a part on an older model whose boat has been lost or damaged.
Before painting, wash the casting in warm water with a little detergent and let it dry thoroughly. Remove the mold seams with a fine file; abrasive paper of around 600 grit will round the edges off. Apply a primer to the metal and only then the paint. With boats it works well to spray the inside before the part is fitted and to tone the boat's floorboards in a lighter shade, so that the internal detail stands out. Cyanoacrylate glue holds best for fitting onto the deck, and epoxy where the contact area is larger. If you want to place the boat on davits, check the hanging dry before the glue goes on.
This is a single accessory. The ship model, paints, primer and glue are not included in the package.
