An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima captures a four-door Nissan Skyline nicknamed Ken and Mary modified in the Grand Champion style. The 1:24 scale is the most widespread for road cars, and the model fits in well among the other vehicles in a display case.
The generation of the Nissan Skyline built from 1972 took hold in Japan under a nickname taken from the pair of young people in an advertising campaign of the time. The car was sold as a coupe as well as a four-door sedan and, together with other models of that period, became an icon of Japanese motoring culture. The Grand Champion style in which this box is conceived derives from the look of the cars of the Japanese Fuji Grand Champion racing series: widened overfenders, a deep front spoiler, a lengthened nose and wheels set right out to the edges of the body. The four-door version is less usual in this styling than the coupe, which makes it all the more interesting in a collection.
Try the additional body parts dry first and only then glue them with thin cement for polystyrene. Spray the body over filler primer, mask striking stripes and two-tone patterns with quality tape and work from the lighter shade to the darker one. Apply the decals over a gloss surface and finish the surface with varnish according to the degree of gloss you want. Fit the wheels and the tires only at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
