An injection-molded plastic kit of the classic Japanese sports coupe Nissan Fairlady 240Z in street-custom form in 1:24 scale from Tamiya. The model captures the car with period modifications: lowered suspension and eight-spoke wheels in the RS Watanabe style. Under the opening hood sits a faithfully rendered inline six-cylinder engine with three carburetors. New decals and metal-finish transfers are included; the car can be built in the Japanese form (right-hand drive) or in the North American Datsun version (left-hand drive).
The Nissan Fairlady Z was a hit from its introduction in 1969, and in 1971 the 240Z version with a larger engine joined the Japanese range. It was powered by an SOHC inline six-cylinder engine of around 2393 cc, fitted with three carburetors. The elegant coupe with its long hood became an icon and a popular basis for period street-custom modifications.
Tamiya is known for the precise fit of its parts; some of them are delicate, however, so cut them off carefully. Paint the engine and the interior and bring them out before closing the body up, so that they show under the opening hood. Paint the body in a gloss shade and polish it; the eight-spoke wheels have a two-part construction for easier painting. Support the lowered stance by seating the suspension carefully.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
