The Nissan MID4 II in 1:24 scale brings the second, reworked form of the Japanese sports car concept.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second rendition of the same concept came a few years after the first and differs from the original design both in shape and technically. The body was given different proportions, wider fenders and a revised nose. For a modeler it is an interesting counterpart to the first version: the two forms side by side show nicely how the design shifted during development.
The car was shown again at one of the big Japanese exhibitions and looked more mature than its predecessor. The engine stayed in the middle, but the body grew wider and the overall effect was more aggressive. This version did not reach series production either, yet it is spoken of as one of the most technically ambitious Japanese projects of its day.
The wide rear end and the flowing transitions of the fenders give away every ripple in the paint, so it is worth sanding through progressively finer grits and letting the material dry thoroughly between coats. Pearl and metallic shades look particularly good on this body, but count on their needing an even spray and a final gloss coat. Leave the wheels and tires until the end so that they do not pick up dust.
Neither the body nor the chassis is pre-assembled; all the work is up to the modeler.
