This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from Tamiya of Japan captures the works Peugeot 206 WRC rally car. The model faithfully conveys the compact body of a car around four meters long with its prominent wheel arches and two-tier rear wing. Rubber tires with a tarmac tread including a spare, chrome-plated parts for the mirrors and the reflectors and a well-worked rally suspension are included. It is a classic kit of intermediate difficulty.
The Peugeot 206 WRC was entered in the world rally championship at the turn of the millennium and was among the most successful cars of its era. It was powered by a transversely mounted two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which together with all-wheel drive and compact dimensions made the car a nimble tool on the special stages. The works team took several world championship titles with it.
Join the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Treat the body with filler primer first, then apply the color, ideally with an airbrush in thin layers, and once dry go over it with gloss clear coat, which unifies the surface and protects the decals. Apply the competition numbers and the sponsor livery onto a perfectly glossy base, so that no air bubbles form; then seal them with a further clear coat. Finish the interior, the roll cage and the glazing before the body is closed up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
