An injection-molded plastic model of a refrigerated semi-trailer in 1:24 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. Note: this is not a vehicle on its own but a semi-trailer that hitches to a tractor unit in the same scale (the tractor is sold separately). The package holds plastic parts, the chassis with its axles, rubber tires and a decal sheet; the assembled trailer is one of the larger models.
A refrigerated semi-trailer, a reefer, represents modern European road haulage of goods that need a controlled temperature: food, drinks and other chilled cargo. The characteristic feature is the insulated box with the refrigeration unit at the front of the trailer, which keeps the temperature low throughout the journey. The box sits on a sturdy chassis with a multi-axle suspension.
Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic. The large flat surfaces of the box call for careful painting: lay down a primer and spray thin coats with an airbrush so that the surface stays smooth. Bring out the chassis and the axles with a wash and a fine patina. Add the company liveries and the advertising graphics with the decals as shown in the instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
