This is a detail set of Sabelt-type racing seat belts 2 inches wide, rendered in red and supplemented with metal buckles and clasps. The set is intended for car models in 1:24 scale and is made by Quinta Studio. It combines thin, convincingly supple belts with metal parts, so the result on a seat looks considerably more believable than belts molded from plastic or a plain flat decal. The set is offered as universal, that is usable for a whole range of different kits rather than for one particular kit.

Please note: this is not a car model or a kit. It is an accessory that is installed into a model already built or under construction - typically into the interior of a racing or sports car, where the belts are one of the most conspicuous details of the cockpit.

Use

• Fit the belts only once the seat and the interior are painted and dry - they hold best on a finished, clean surface.
• Work through the individual shoulder, lap and crotch straps one at a time; try the position dry before you fix them.
• Handle the metal buckles with tweezers; lay the small parts out on a tray beforehand so that they do not get lost.
• You create the natural drape of a belt with a slight bend - a belt should not be taut like a string but gently waved over the seat and the frame.
• If you wish, unify the final look with a matte varnish; the metal clasps can be left glossy for contrast.

Who the set is for

For modelers who build racing, rally or sports cars in 1:24 scale and want to take the interior to collector level. Working with the small parts and buckles calls for a steady hand, tweezers and patience - a beginner will manage the set, but it pays not to rush. It will be appreciated above all by those who photograph a model from close up or display it with the cockpit open.
