A pair of Sparco R600 type sport seats for the interiors of models in 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Turin brand Sparco came about in 1977 from the workshop of two racing drivers and has supplied seats, belts and clothing to motorsport ever since. A particular group of its range is made up of the types intended for cars that come home from the circuit under their own power. They have a firm shell with high side support, but their backrest folds and adjusts, so passengers can get into the back of a coupe.
The designation R600 belongs exactly to this group. The support for the thighs and shoulders is deep, the head section drawn up high, and the upholstery combines smooth and textured areas. In kits the seats tend to be the coarsest part of the whole interior, because they are molded from two halves and the parting line runs across the whole side bolster.
A base in two tones works well: darker on the shell and half a shade lighter on the seating surfaces. The texture of the fabric is suggested by a very fine spray directed from the side, which catches only on the raised places. Anyone who wants to go further can coat the surfaces with glue and dust them with fine textile powder.
The seats go into the cabin only after the floor has been painted. Check the spacing of the mounts against the tunnel as you do so, as every kit has it a different width, and alter the mounts rather than the floor.
Belts, the instrument panel and the kit of the car are not supplied with the part.
More experienced builders put a thin spacer between the shell and the floor, so that the seat does not sit too low. The road car tends to be set higher than a simplified mold usually renders it.
