On a car model the last percentages of credibility are not made on the body but inside. A cabin is a small space full of shapes, and every one of them that stays merged knocks the result down. The gear lever in the F form from the line of accessories of the Hobby Design brand offers a separate part that replaces the shape molded in the floor or in the tunnel and keeps a sharp outline even under paint.
The manufacturer carries several forms set apart by a letter in this line. Choose according to the car you are building, and best according to a photograph of its interior, because the shape of the lever differs on sporting, racing and civilian cars. When you are building a particular historic car, it is worth looking at period shots of the cabin; they tend to be more available than expected and save repainting later.
Drill the hole with the smallest drill you have and widen it if need be only according to the real need. Seat the part dry and check the angle, because a lever leaning back comes across differently than a vertical one and the difference is apparent when looking through a window. Apply the glue to the lower end of the shaft and draw the excess off at once with the tip of a paper tissue, so that it does not spread over the floor of the cabin.
