An accessory for a model of the Israeli Merkava tank in 1:48 scale: the curtain of chains ending in balls that the machines carry at the rear of the turret.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Merkava is an Israeli main battle tank that differs from most foreign machines in its very layout: the engine is at the front and the crew at the rear. At the rear of the turret it carries a conspicuous curtain of chains ending in metal balls. It is not a decoration and not carelessness on the crew's part. The curtain covers the gap between the turret and the hull, that is, the place where the tank can be hit where the armor is weaker, and its job is to catch an incoming round before it finds that gap.
An accessory for a model in 1:48 scale that renders this curtain more faithfully than it comes out of an ordinary kit. How many parts the package contains and which version of the tank it suits is stated by the manufacturer's instructions; check that before building. The parts are not made of polystyrene, so glue for plastic models will not join them; use cyanoacrylate glue or two-part epoxy.
The most important thing is that the chains hang naturally. The weight of the balls pulls them straight down, so none of them may stick out to the side or stay horizontal, or the whole model gives away that this is a cast part. Set the curtain in place dry and check how it seats on the rear of the turret. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts. Leave the chains and the balls dark and matte, and only on the high points accent the wear of the metal lightly with drybrushing. At the end it is a good idea to add dust in the shade of the surrounding soil, because this is exactly where most of it collects.
The tank model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
