A set of modern American fuel containers in 1:35 scale by T-Rex Studio. According to the name, the Set A version carries the 5GAL marking. The manufacturer also makes the sibling Set B version with the 20L marking, so choose by the lettering you want on your model. The marking is what tells the two versions apart.
Fuel containers are among the small things that can make a scene believable. They come in on the fenders and the rear of a vehicle, in the brackets on a bed, on a cargo platform, among the kit laid out around a crew or loose in a diorama at a supply point. Because they are separate parts, they can be placed exactly where an empty surface needs breaking up.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and level the mating surfaces with fine-grained sandpaper. Apply the base thinly so that the engraving is not lost. The lettering and markings are brought out well by laying a darker wash over the base shade and wiping the surplus off in the direction of the longer side of the container. Dents and scuffed edges can be suggested with a dry brush, and pigments matching the ground the scene is set in fill out the lower edges. The containers look better when each one gets a slightly different degree of wear.
