The Shelby GT350 was created by modifying the production Ford Mustang in its fastback body style. Shelby American lightened the car, revised the suspension, the brakes and the exhaust system and added characteristic body features. Under the hood worked a V8 of roughly 4.7 liters, that is 289 cubic inches, which set the GT350 apart from its more powerful sibling the GT500 with its far larger engine. The 1967 model year brought the car the new, longer body of the second-series Mustang and a pronounced front and rear body kit. The 1967 car is one of the most sought-after versions for collectors.
The foundation is a smooth body — sand the parting seams back, lay on a filler primer and spray the paint in thin coats. Longitudinal stripes are characteristic of the Shelby; if you do not have them as decals, or want to spray them, mask only after the base color has fully cured, or you risk pulling the finish off. Apply the decals to a glossy base, use a softener and unify the surface with a clear coat at the end. Pick the interior and the engine bay out in matte shades and a gentle wash, so that the detail does not disappear under the gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
