Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of a monster truck with the body of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup in the USA-1 livery, 1:25 scale, made by AMT. The model is intended to be glued and painted, and thanks to its big wheels and the high stance of the body it is a conspicuous display-case piece once built. Check the particular number of parts, the makeup of the decals and the dimensions of the finished model on the packaging.
USA-1 is one of the classic names of the American monster truck scene, which grew out of modified off-road pickups and swelled into a discipline of its own. The vehicle stands on a massive frame with long-travel suspension and sturdy axles, the wheels with their coarse off-road tread reach a diameter exceeding the height of an ordinary passenger car, and the pickup body serves more as a light shell than as a load-bearing part. That is exactly why the machinery stays largely exposed and is visible even on the finished model.
Work from the chassis: glue the frame, the axles and the shock absorbers and let them cure thoroughly, and only then stand the model on its wheels, or the geometry will twist. With kits of this type the big tires tend to be of a soft material that polystyrene cement will not hold on, so count on cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the body over a filler primer and apply rich shades over a white base. Apply the decals on a gloss varnish with a decal softener. Pick the chassis out with a dark wash, and add fine dust pigment on the wheels if you wish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
